Sir Martin Sorrell to lead 2009 Cannes recession debate

Sir Martin Sorrell, CEO of WPP Worldwide will lead a panel of global marketing leaders in a discussion on how the recession is affecting the industry now and how it will shape its future at the 2009 Cannes Lion festival.Other speakers scheduled to take part in the panel discussion include Marc Pritchard, global marketing officer of P&G; Mary Beth West, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Kraft Foods Inc.; and Mary Dillon, executive vice president and global chief marketing officer of McDonald's Corporation.

Sir Martin Sorrell, CEO of WPP Worldwide will lead a panel of global marketing leaders in a discussion on how the recession is affecting the industry now and how it will shape its future at the 2009 Cannes Lion festival.

Other speakers scheduled to take part in the panel discussion include Marc Pritchard, global marketing officer of P&G; Mary Beth West, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Kraft Foods Inc.; and Mary Dillon, executive vice president and global chief marketing officer of McDonald's Corporation.

"This will be a wonderful opportunity to talk to three of the most powerful CMOs in the world about how they are marketing their companies, products and services through these difficult times. Are they investing more to build brands or cutting back? The three represent 13 billion dollars of worldwide advertising and marketing spend," said Sorrell.

This year's Cannes Debate will take place on Friday 26th of June at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
